Sex Offender Rehabilitation and Treatment Services

The Missouri Department of Mental Health’s Sex Offender Rehabilitation and Treatment Services program (SORTS), is an involuntary civil commitment comprehensive program for individuals identified as likely to benefit from services. This is accomplished through treatment, rehabilitation, and supervision designed to prevent future re-offenses. The ultimate goal of this program is to help individuals make positive changes which will allow them to live successfully in the community.

Farmington Location

Visitor Information

General Information
  • All visitors who are not minors must present a valid state issued ID.
  • Visitors must be appropriately dressed. Provocative or suggestive clothing is not allowed. 
  • Visits may be suspended or shortened at the discretion of the facility for situations that concern the safety and security of the campus including but not limited to inclement weather, construction progress, loss of utilities, etc.
  • Visits must be cancelled by 4:00 p.m. on Fridays. Visitors will be allowed to miss one schedule visit (without notification). Second occurrence (without notification) will result in a three month suspension of visiting privileges. Visitors may only attend one visiting period a day.
Fulton SORTS: Visitor Information
  • Monday through Friday
    • 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. 
    • 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday & Holidays
    • 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
    • 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
    • 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Holidays: 
    • New Year’s Day
    • Easter Sunday
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day. 
  • For clients in SORTS, visits occur in the SORTS Visiting Room. 
  • Scheduling should occur for all visits 72 hours in advance. 
  • Visiting hours are subject to change based on Program and/or Security needs.
Farmington SORTS: Visitor Information
  • Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays
    • 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
    • 1:45 to 3:45 p.m. 
  • Holidays: 
    • New Year’s Day
    • Easter Sunday
    • Memorial Day
    • Independence Day
    • Labor Day
    • Thanksgiving Day
    • Christmas Day. 
  • All visits require 72 hours (3 days) prior notification to 573-218-5044. Notification will not be accepted/acknowledged at other numbers. If prior notice is not received, visitors will not be allowed entry.
  • An exception is made for attorneys and clergy who must notify the facility two working days in advance of their planned visit. Exceptions will be made only in rare circumstances.
